George Washington got the most "votes" for president, and the Constitutional Convention passed unanimously during the Glen Oaks High School mock election. The election was part of the voter registration campaign to give seniors hands-on experience with the voting process. Students experienced a full mock election, including voter registration, signing in and casting votes using an actual voting machine. The campaign not only familiarized students with the steps of voting but also aimed to educate them on the importance of civic engagement. Thirty students cast votes. George Washington garnered 16 votes, followed by Thomas Jefferson (9), John Adams (3) and James Madison (2). #WeAre红杏直播app #ebrschools

We are a Blue Ribbon,鈥� Principal Kyle Fontenette said in an auditorium packed with cheering students (all with their new Blue Ribbon shirts), teachers, staff, 红杏直播app Schools leaders, board members and other dignitaries.
Superintendent LaMont Cole said the school鈥檚 achievement took a 鈥渢otal team effort鈥� from teachers, the support team, staff, cafeteria workers and custodians. 鈥淭his is not an award that we all should take lightly. We should be proud of you, we should celebrate you, but most of all, we should support you all so that you can do it again and again and again,鈥� Cole said.
Mayor Sharon Weston Broome presented Fontenette and Mayfair with an outstanding certificate of commendation from the city. Principal Fontenette and music teacher Katie Choi will represent Mayfair at a national recognition ceremony in November in Washington, D.C.
Choi has won Mayfair Lab鈥檚 Teacher of the Year and is the Elementary Fine Arts Teacher of the Year.
